Olive Vale Pastoral is the operating entity for Olive Vale, Fairview and Retreat stations, Running a cattle herd in excess of 20,000 head (Brahman back ground) and 10,000 Merino sheep (wool production) with large scale agriculture/broad acre farming planned for 2015.All Aerial and ground Mustering/Transport and infrastructure improvements are performed in house.
Olive Vale is on the Laura River, 200km northwest of Cairns North Queensland and 90km west of Cooktown with mains power and sealed (bitumen) road access to all southern markets and Abattoirs. Olive Vale covers approximately 136,000 hectares .With major improvements to waters and fencing carrying capacity is estimated at 15,000 head with plans to increase to 25,000. Fairview is the primary homestead on Olive Vale station located 20km north west of Laura.Incorpoarting full in house maintenance facilities for our fleet of road trains and earthmoving equipment. All weather gravel airstrip. More about it
Retreat station is on the Barcoo River 45km south east of Jundah, 220km south west of Longreach Western Queensland. Covering 142,000 hectare of mixed flood out river country (Mitchell and Flinders grass) Mulga and Channel country. With major improvements new dams/fencing and major solar powered installations completed in recent years has a Carrying capacity of approx. 12,000 head cattle including 10,000 merino sheep.
